About

I'm Frank Accavitti. I'm an educator, writer, and amateur photographer. This website combines the latter two in that equation, and is meant to display my photography, as well as some short fiction I've written (some of which made the transition from a younger version of this website on tumblr, now migrated and removed).

Photo posts are my own. I don't watermark, but ask that you don't steal a photo for profit. I'm fine with you making prints or setting something as your desktop background -- actually, I'm flattered -- but just don't print it on a massive canvas to sell to someone else. I'd be upset, you'd be dishonest, and we'd all just cry ourselves to sleep. Simply put, any photo posted on this website is copyright © Frank Accavitti III, asnapshotstory.com, 2012-2019, of course provided that photo credit has not been given to another photographer within the post (which would supersede this claim).

Now, there is the matter of the stories. I write the words, but you can submit your own photograph for me to write about. I do it in a flash fiction sort of way, and post it quick as I can. I credit the photo submitter in whatever way they please -- a twitter handle, a website link, or simply a name -- you can be the judge of that. If you would like to submit a photo, send it along, (frank dot accavitti at gmail dot com) and let me know how you would like to be credited. My only request is that you are the photographer or have their direct permission (your sister is fine, so long as I know it), and you are okay with your work being on the internet.

If you want to know about any of my photos, please ask. If you want to offer advice or criticism, go right ahead. If you're going to be rude about it, warn me first so that I gloss over your comments. I am sharing my work to learn as well as let people see what I've done. I may have a text post here or there about new methods or ideas I'm trying with my picture taking, and such posts will be noted. Just read the tags.

Let's get going.
